RBQ license bond

The license bond from the Régie du bâtiment du Québec (RBQ) is mandatory for all contractors operating in Quebec. It is a financial guarantee of $ 20,000 in the case of a specialized contractor and $ 40,000 for a general contractor to guarantee the performance of their contractual obligations to customers.

It is possible to obtain a license bond from insurance companies for an annual lump sum of a few hundred dollars rather than depositing this amount as security with the RBQ.
